Social Networking Geek

I did it – I finally joined the ranks of so many others who have used (and in many cases become pseudo-addicted to) social networking sites.  The two that seem to be the most popular right now – Facebook (find me here)and Twitter (find me here). (we’ll leave MySpace for the little children)

To even further solidify my addictions, both have easy to use, mobile-friendly web apps, so that I can easily access this via my super-duper phone.  In fact, I think most of my access to these sites has been via my mobile.

Twitter for a while made no sense to me – I could not see the point.  I’m still struggling with it’s value proposition, but I’ve been convinced enough by many that I’ve spoken to about why i should twit, that I’ll continue to use it for now.

Facebook is pretty kool – since it’s so popular and user-friendly, it seems like everyone I know, both the techie and the non-techie alike, are on it.  So it makes it easy and fun to [re]connect with people.

We’ll see how all this goes, and whether or not it gets me into trouble. :)
